Artist's Description

The sudden appearance of crocuses brings relief from winter and announces that spring has arrived. Another season's promise is at hand. This little watercolor painting was inspired by the song "Amazon," written and performed by John Denver many years ago. The lyrics include the following:
"There is a flower that blooms in the dessert,
That one blossom is all flowers,
All flowers are that one . . . "

About Joseph Burger

Joseph Burger

After retiring from an engineering career in 2009, Joe's attention turned to art, beginning with pencil drawings and then pastel and watercolor paintings. He especially enjoys the beauty and human interest found in everyday New England scenes, as well as the challenge of commission work, the challenge of capturing a client's idea in an artistic way. Joe's engineering and drawing background has proved to be a strength, resulting in many awards in local art shows and acceptance in nationally recognized exhibits. He is a member of several Connecticut and Massachusetts art organizations. He gives demonstrations at art club meetings, leads watercolor workshops, and is an instructor for watercolor classes.
