This 12 x 16 watercolor painting depicts a scene from Black Point, located along the Connecticut shore in the Niantic area. The sparkling sound water is framed by the dark trees and house in this scene.
After retiring from an engineering career in 2009, Joe's attention turned to art, beginning with pencil drawings and then pastel and watercolor paintings. He especially enjoys the beauty and human interest found in everyday New England scenes, as well as the challenge of commission work, the challenge of capturing a client's idea in an artistic way. Joe's engineering and drawing background has proved to be a strength, resulting in many awards in local art shows and acceptance in nationally recognized exhibits. He is a member of several Connecticut and Massachusetts art organizations. He gives demonstrations at art club meetings, leads watercolor workshops, and is an instructor for watercolor classes.
