Queen Ann's Lace reaches through the fence toward the light, along this path, which was formerly a railroad bed. It is based on the Redstone Rail Trail near East Longmeadow, MA. The farm buildings, typical of the area, were added instead of the small businesses that actually line the trail.
After retiring from an engineering career in 2009, Joe's attention turned to art, beginning with pencil drawings and then pastel and watercolor paintings. He especially enjoys the beauty and human interest found in everyday New England scenes, as well as the challenge of commission work, the challenge of capturing a client's idea in an artistic way. Joe's engineering and drawing background has proved to be a strength, resulting in many awards in local art shows and acceptance in nationally recognized exhibits. He is a member of several Connecticut and Massachusetts art organizations. He gives demonstrations at art club meetings, leads watercolor workshops, and is an instructor for watercolor classes.
