Artist's Description
This is a watercolor rendition of Gay Head, as seen from the observation point frequented by visitors to the island of Martha's Vineyard off the Massachusetts coast. The land in the distance is the group of islands along the southeast side of Buzzard's Bay.
About Joseph Burger
After retiring from an engineering career in 2009, Joe's attention turned to art, beginning with pencil drawings and then pastel and watercolor paintings. He especially enjoys the beauty and human interest found in everyday New England scenes, as well as the challenge of commission work, the challenge of capturing a client's idea in an artistic way. Joe's engineering and drawing background has proved to be a strength, resulting in many awards in local art shows and acceptance in nationally recognized exhibits. He is a member of several Connecticut and Massachusetts art organizations. He gives demonstrations at art club meetings, leads watercolor workshops, and is an instructor for watercolor classes.
